How Are Apprenticeships Funded?

Funding for apprenticeships depends on the size of your company and the age of your apprentice:

For SMEs (Small to Medium Enterprises) with a wage bill under £3m:

- Apprentices aged 16-21: The government funds 100% of training costs.

- Apprentices aged 22 and older: The government funds 95% of training costs, with a 5% contribution from the employer.

For companies with a wage bill of £3m or more:

- You will fund apprenticeships through the apprenticeship levy scheme.

- Employers are responsible for paying apprentices’ wages, which must comply with UK minimum wage regulations.
